How to participate

Members are welcome but not required to work on the farm.  We always welcome help with the harvest on Mondays and Thursdays.  Members often remark that helping at the farm is a highlight of the summer.  We also appreciate help with delivery of produce to food shelves at the end of the pick up time.

Big Woods Farm is about more than growing and eating good food.  It’s also about community. We sponsor three farm festivals during the season to offer the opportunity for members to spend some time at the farm, meet their fellow shareholders, eat a potluck dinner together, and maybe even make some music!

Farm Festivals

Height of -Summer Garlic and Tomato Festival and Potluck,  in August, date to be announced. Tour the gardens, eat fresh tomatoes and roasted garlic, and what ever other delicious dishes your fellow farm members bring.

Fall Harvest Festival and Potluck, Saturday, September 22nd, 2012. Help pick the winter squash and pumpkins (including yours to take home), and stay for a  potluck showcasing farm member’s favorite produce recipes.  We end with a music jam, so bring your instruments or singing voices too!
